Difference Between Ford F-150 Lift Kits and F-150 Leveling Kit

Different from the Ford F-150 suspension kit, the Ford F-150 lift kit and F-150 level kit are used to increase the F-150’s ground clearance and clear the way for bigger (typically off-roading) tires. With assistance from the Ford F-150 suspension kit, the truck’s body is raised higher off the axles. There are some differences between the two kits:

  • Ford F-150 Leveling Kit: You can lift the front of your F-150 by about 1.5 to 2.5 inches with a front leveling kit. Stock-style stances can be achieved by placing a rear lift block on the rear leaf springs for a small height increase at all four points. You can install slightly larger tires—about 33 inches in diameter. Ford F-150 Leveling kits are best for daily Indianapolis driving, towing, and light off-roading.
  • Ford F-150 Lift Kit: One of these kits will raise your F-150’s ground clearance at all four corners by 3 to 12 inches, and allowing room for 35+-inch tires. If you enjoy off-roading, the Ford F-150Lift kits are best for mud, sand, snow, and heavy-duty off-roading.

Starting Price & Installation

The Ford F-150 Leveling kit is less expensive than the Ford F-150 lift kit. You can expect to pay between $100-$250 for the Ford F-150 Level kit, then between $1,000 – $4,000 for the Ford F-150 Lift kit. However, the prices depend on the ride quality and height you want. You will need to schedule a service appointment for a professional technician to install either kit and provide an alignment.
