As we mentioned above, there are four unique engines in the Ford Escape lineup. If you want to go traditional, there are two gas-powered EcoBoost engines, each of which earns excellent gas mileage in the city and on the highway. If you’re after maximum efficiency, consider upgrading to the hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain! They aren’t quite as powerful in terms of performance as the EcoBoost engines, but they get much better gas mileage, with the plug-in hybrid powertrain capable of cruising short distances around Indianapolis entirely on electric power!
